Browser Extension

Our browser extension provides color extraction and analysis tools. Here's what it does:

• Color Extraction: Analyzes page content to extract color palettes (only when you activate the tool)
• Contrast Analysis: Scans for accessibility issues (only when you run the analysis)
• Page Analysis: Identifies colors, typography, and design elements (only when you request it)

Important: The extension only processes page content locally in your browser. Page content is NOT sent to our servers. We only store:

• Color palettes you extract (the colors themselves, not page content)
• Your usage count for rate limiting
• Your saved preferences and settings

We do NOT track: Your browsing history, websites you visit, or any page content.

Data Storage and Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

• Encrypted data transmission using HTTPS
• Secure database storage with access controls
• Regular security audits and updates
• Authentication through trusted third-party providers

Usage Tracking

We track specific user actions for rate limiting and service functionality:

• Palette Generation: When you generate color palettes
• Color Extraction: When you extract colors from images or web pages
• Harmony Generation: When you create color harmonies
• Contrast Analysis: When you run accessibility checks (extension)

What we track: Action type, timestamp, basic metadata (colors used, settings)

What we DON'T track: Page content, browsing history, or any websites you visit where you don't actively use HueStack

IP Addresses: Used solely for anonymous user rate limiting and are NOT stored in our database

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Clerk: Authentication and user management
• Vercel: Application hosting and deployment
• Upstash: Redis rate limiting and caching
• Neon: PostgreSQL database hosting

We do NOT use: Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any behavioral tracking services

Your Rights (GDPR Compliance)

You have the right to:

• Access: View all your personal data we store
• Portability: Download all your data in JSON format
• Rectification: Update or correct your information
• Erasure: Permanently delete your account and all associated data
• Object: Object to processing of your personal data

How to exercise your rights: Visit your account settings page to download your data or delete your account. For other requests, contact privacy@huestack.com.

Data Retention Policy

We automatically delete old data to minimize storage:

• Free users: Usage logs older than 90 days are automatically deleted
• Premium users: Usage logs older than 1 year are automatically deleted
• Saved palettes: Kept indefinitely unless you delete them
• Rate limiting data: Automatically expires after 30 days
• Account deletion: All data permanently deleted within 48 hours

You may delete your account and all associated data at any time through your account settings.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new privacy policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.
